Prayer
Treasuring Christ
Current Prayer Initiative
In 2024, we have several prayer opportunities for our church:
1. Each member is encouraged to continue praying through our Mission Statement: Treasuring Christ in worship, discipleship, and service.
We seek to treasure Christ above every earthly pursuit. We know he is most worthy of our affections, resources, energy, and aspirations. We also know we are constantly distracted by the things of this world. As a church, we seek to help one another treasure Christ above all.
We seek to treasure him in our worship. When we gather as well as in our family worship and personal devotions, we seek to faithfully declare God’s worth back to him. We seek to be transformed by his Word, to make a joyful noise to him in song, and to pray as though the high King of Heaven were our Father.
Furthermore, we seek to treasure Christ in discipleship. For the sake of his name and glory, we seek to pour our lives into one another, caring deeply for the spiritual good of our brothers and sisters. We seek to be a part of his Great Commission fulfillment in Byron, Georgia, and to the ends of the earth.
We seek to treasure Christ in our acts of service. Our Lord Jesus came not to be served but to serve. We want to follow his example and be people who, by faith, lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. We do not simply love when it is convenient, but rather we love because he first loved us.
You can read more about our Mission Statement by reading this lightly edited manuscript of a sermon preached to introduce it to Byron Baptist on April 25, 2021.
2. We invite our members to pray for our Missions Partners who are actively sharing the Gospel all over the world. Copies of this list are available at our Church Welcome Center.
3. Please pray for the members of this church! This is best accomplished by using a church directory and using it as a guide to prayer for other members. These are also available at the Church Welcome Center.
4. Please pray through our weekly Prayer List. These are published every Wednesday and distributed at our weekly Prayer Meeting.
